Finishing Inside Our French Property

Over the spring and summer the windows and shutters were fitted to the house. In addition, the electricity and plumbing were installed and made ready to be connected. With autumn approaching fast we got stuck into the project again and proceeded to render the inside walls to expose the stones, put up dryline walls and renovate the chimney. We also decided that it would make us feel better to fit a kitchen and bathroom a bit earlier than necessary and prepare the floor. The latter to be a wonderful mix of old girondine tiles and wood.

We also cleared the land to put in a new fosse septic and the necessary trenches for the services like water, telephone and electricity to be connected.

The race was now on to see if we could decorate and move in by Christmas.
